The educational aspect of the tour and explaining the reasons for the sanctuary was priceless. This is especially made clear as many overseas tourist would not be aware of the plight and cruelty of these beautiful animals. The guide we had (Ya Ya) had a special bond and affinity towards the elephants and her passion showed with her commentary. Definitely a must to experience and a welcome escape from the shops, sun and surf.

What an amazing half day with the elephants! This sanctuary is doing it the right way! Don’t fall for the other elephant excursions claiming to be sanctuaries…they are not and expect the elephants to work hard to entertain the tourists! Phuket Elephant Sanctuary allows these amazing creatures to be elephants and gives them the opportunity to live their lives in peace, roaming free in the 30 acres with very little interaction from humans. It was a wonderful day that impacted us immensely. The the buffet lunch was delicious too!

Our guide.

This is a must do when in Phuket! The most humane sanctuary I have ever experienced. This was a family (all adults) trip that was amazing. I love how tourists can still experience what it is like being near such wonderful and magnificent animals without inhumane treatment of them. The guides are wonderful and so knowledgeable about each and every elephant and you really get a fantastic experience. The food was amazing and the shopping fun too. A well put together tour and well worth the money, especially, when knowing our money goes to support such an important cause.

What a wonderful job these guys are doing. Thanks for the effort you put in 100%.
Would be great if the government put $1.00 onto everybody’s entry. I’d be happy to pay it.

We had the best time, will never forget the adorable and majestic elephants we met and our excellent tour guide. I will recommend this tour to anyone visiting Phuket, and also now know to warn others about the importance of finding an ethical place to visit elephants in Thailand!

The tour takes you up close (without any fencing) to several elephants (about 12) including an opportunity to feed one and many, many photo opportunities. The sanctuary is large with lots of open space for the elephants to wander, and all of the elephants look well cared for (no riding or chains here). Overall a great experience with a knowledgeable guide who knew each elephant’s personal history. And a surprise at the end in the form of an exceptional, vegetarian lunch buffet.

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Elephant Sanctuary. Our guide was friendly, funny, and professional. He helped us understand the individual personalities of each of the elephants. For example, we learned who were the “princesses” , “drama queens” and “loyal friends” among the elephants. The lunch was delicious with a variety of dishes to choose from. My favorite part of the tour was having the opportunity to hand feed one of the elephants. It was beyond special! I am so glad that they created a tourist attraction that protects these old pachyderms rather than take advantage of these amazing creatures. These elderly elephants deserve to live out the rest of their lives in a protected environment where they have room to roam.

Amazing experience. Highly recommend for all ages. Very informative guides. Good food. Very friendly staff.

Lovely experience seeing the elephants. Good to hear the elephants personal stories about coming to a better life. Animals are free to roam around and enjoy the last part of their life!
Joyce_C –
Great experience. Happy that the elephants can have a good home. Good option of not supporting animal cruelty but also being able to see elephants.
Cheryl_C –
Positive experience. Elephants have agency to move at will. Their mahouts wait on them – there is no coaxing or prompting. The staff was engaging and welcoming. Lunch was delicious and the other attendees friendly.

Excellent experience learning the story of the elephants and their rescue. I loved the grounds and the friendly elephants.

Visiting the elephants at this ethical sanctuary was a highlight of my trip to Thailand. Every aspect of the morning was seamless – pickup at the hotel, ride to the headquarters and sanctuary, breakfast, lunch, feeding the elephant!!! and return to the hotel – I highly recommend this activity.

This was on my bucket list and man did it not disappoint. The sanctuary was beautiful inside and out and you can tell the workers care so much about them. The elephants were so comfortable coming up to us without a hint of hesitation. That alone shows how well they are being treated and that they feel safe. Ten out of ten recommende. It was an awesome experience and the lunch was delicious 😋

Such a wonderful morning. It’s so good to see the elephants being looked after and loved. Our guide was amazing and super knowledgeable. Can’t recommend higher enough, go here and nowhere else so that you know the elephants are treated well.

Everything was perfect , the guide was very informative, the video at the beginning explained everything about the sanctuary and there amazing work, lots of refreshments on arrival . Lots of photo opportunities with the elephants including feeding and stroking them. On arrival back from an hour in the jungle a very welcoming cold towel to cool you down and a delicious buffet lunch with cold drinks , thank you for a perfect morning

Hotel pick up was on time. Transport vehicle nice and cool. This is a very well organized tour.
We had a great morning at this ethical elephant sanctuary. We watched the elephants in a healthy, happy environment. There is no riding or bathing these animals. We got to feed them by hand and pet them as we fed them. We learned about each one’s age and when/what they were rescued from.
Majestic creatures!
Our guide “Tour” was very sweet and informative. Breakfast and lunch was in an outdoor elevated pavilion where the breeze is cool and you are able to watch the elephants wander the grounds. The elevated walk way is a great observation point, too. Just the right length of time. Enjoyed this tour very much.

What a wonderful sanctuary doing such good for rescued elephants. Heart warming story and a brilliant guide taking us around. Couldn’t believe just how close we were to the elephants as we watched them in a natural habitat.

Our tour guide was awesome and knowledgeable. The organisation is ethical and does the right thing for the elephants it saves.

Had such an incredible morning here with the elephants! We got to feed them and watch them bathe/play around. Lunch was delicious, with so many options!
Diana_E –
Amazing experience recommend it 10/10 especially to people who care about elephant’s health and life. This sanctuary rescued and purchased tortured elephants by the owners who mistreated and abused the elephants. You get to take pictures with the elephants and learn about the history of their life, also feeding elephants! Highlight of my trip for sure.
Anant_B –
Exemplary eye opening experience. Reinforced the urgent need to vocalize making ethical experiences with elephants more mainstream than others offered within the region. All parts of the tour organized to perfection including pick up/drop off and meals, insight provided on each elephant’s journey was heartwarming. Leaves you with striving to contribute more and spreading the word is definitely one way to achieve the same. Hoping for the best for this sanctuary as it plans to expand, we will be back!

This was a dream! I loved this experience. We were picked up by the sanctuary on time and our driver was very nice. We then were dropped off at the ticket office for the sanctuary where we were then whisked away in a pick up to the actual sanctuary. Food and drinks were provided when we arrived as well as rainboots if needed. We were shown a small video about the sanctuary and then off to feed/see the elephants.
This was great. You don’t ride or bathe the animals and get to see them in their natural habitat. All of the elephants are rescued from their previous “jobs” so they all have their own story and background. Our guide Katie was knowledgeable and funny. He made the tour great.
I would definitely recommend taking this tour and observing elephants up close. There are so many “sanctuaries” out there but this was or is the only one that just lets the elephants live without our touch.
James_c –
This was an amazing experience! The staff and crew were nothing but professional and kind. The tour walked you through a humaine tour of the elephants and explained a lot of tricks to the trade that hurt the elephants in the tourism industry that i was not aware of. The tour will give you an overhead look of all the elephants and feed them and get up close to those that want some attention. We went in the rain and rain coats and umbrellas were provided as well as most of the area had overhead cover. It was amazing to see how much the staff care and help these animals. A must do for couples and kids

What a great morning and a fantastic place to visit. They are doing such a great job saving old and injured elephants. I was glad to be a part of it.
