This ended up being a private excursion which was great. Taorimina was a cute little Italain town and fun to visit. Driver was very good – there were traffic issues on way back to Messina and he was in constant contact with other drivers and found us a better way back to town. Driver stopped in a few spots in Messina as well. Driver’s spoke ok English.

We really enjoyed our driver/guide Michael!! He was very professional and knowledgeable! Perfect combination of history and time on our own in beautiful Taormina and Castelmola, Sicily!! There were on 4 of us! We would definitely recommend this option!

We did not receive the tour we paid for. We were shocked to find out our four hour “Taormina only” tour was merged with the Castelmola and Taormina tour. This was only after we were told to meet back at the bus in 2 hours while currently on the tour! The tour we paid four stated at least 3 hours in Taormina so we booked the Teatro di Taormina knowing we would have at least an hour to tour it and then still have two hours for shopping and to visit the Duomo and the Villa Communale. We immediately felt rushed and the bus dropped us off at the gate opposite of the theater. So we had to rush with our 70 year old parents to make the Teatro we already paid for and were only able to spend about 18 minutes there ( nowhere near the amount of time we needed to see and learn about the place) as it took us longer to walk with our parents then we thought. We were unable to take our time and shop or visit the villa communale as we had hoped for.
When we questioned the guide he stated there were not enough people for the Taormina tour and therefore they merged us into the other group. What? We were not informed of this change! Now it was stated on our ticket that the tour would be canceled if there were not enough people. That did not happen. We would have preferred the tour be canceled or at least inform us of merging the two tours so we had the choice to continue with the tour or cancel. We had up to 24 hours prior to cancel both the Teatro and the sicily4you tour. But because this company just wanted the money they decided not to telll us about the change and therefore we were not given that choice to cancel. I’ve reached out to them for explanation and compensation but they don’t care and have not responded. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! They don’t care about your experience, only about your money. You’ve been warned.

Beautiful. Get there early to avoid the crowds. If you can go on Sunday, you can go inside all the beautiful churches.
