I really enjoyed the tour, and our guide Raj was great! We visited different places and got to sample a few different dishes, which were all very tasty. We also visited a local Indian shop, which was very interesting as we could see the products and spices available to locals. I definitely wasn’t hungry by the end of the tour!

This small group Indian food tasting tour around the Brick Lane area was a great experience! Our knowledgeable local guide Raj took us to places I wouldn’t think of going to on my own! We got to taste more traditional foods that aren’t always on the menu of mainstream restaurants. Many savory tastings with sweet treats at the end of the tour! An added extra surprise was being able to go into the kitchen of one of the restaurants to see how they make Naan and prepare the food! I recommend this tour to locals as well as those visiting London from abroad!

The Indian Food Tour with our guide Raj in East London was such a great time. We were a bunch of friends with experience of Indian food but Raj took us to really great places to experience different aspects of the Indian cuisine. Some of those dishes were just astonishing (the lamb ….) It is also a great way to know some good places to come back ! Fully recommended!

I had booked a tour of the Borough Market and London Bridge for my first trip to London. I was informed via email that the tour was canceled due to the tragic events that had occurred on the bridge. The company, especially, AJ, was very professional in making the change and I appreciated their efforts. The Indian food tour was offered as an alternative. Loving Indian food and knowing that London had a reputation for the best Indian food, I took them up on their offer. We met Shay in front of the Whitechapel gallery. We had a very small group. There was a British couple, my sister, Shay, and myself. Having done other food tours I was hoping that Shay could provide recommendations for a place to have dinner after the tour. OMG!!!! Bring your appetite. On our first stop, we had a full meal. We had lamb chops, paneer, a salad, chili mongo, and naan, Holy cow! Everything was amazing. We even got to watch our naan being prepared. Shay is absolutely the most charming tour guide. I don’t think the experience would have been as great if it wasn’t for his conversation and intuition. He is a lovely person! Our food was amazing and the company was great. We then walked around Brick Lane, where Shay offered a lot of information about the area and we visited a local market. Lots of interesting foods in the market but the spice aisle was amazing. We then visited a take out restaurant where we sampled Pea and Lentil Kachori and Dhokra yellow spongy item served with a taramind sauce. Both of these were delights! We next went to a bakery where we picked up dessert for dinner!!! Holy cow! We were going to have dinner? Next we went to a lovely restaurant where we were served Puree Kebab Wrap with salad, mint and mango sauces served with a wedge of lemonSaag Chicken, Lamb Pathia, Daal served with plain naan and rice. Here Shay provided everyone with either beer or wine. The curries were amazing but my favorite was the lamb pathia, it was just the right amount of spice! We were then served our treats from the bakery Chocolate and Pistachio Barfi, Gajar Halva and Coconut Delight. All of them were delicious but we all were stuffed and there still food and drinks left over. We did not do justice to our delicious desserts. This was such an enjoyable food tour but for me it was Shay that made this the best experience I could have hoped for. What a joy and a treat!!!!!

I like food. If it can be eaten, I will attempt it. I went into this tour simply hoping for some good food and had a plan to backstop it with room service at my hotel if necessary.
Surprise! Not only was there a substantial amount of food, so much so that my guide Mukta and I could not finish it all, but it was top-rate. On top of it,. if you are lucky enough and do this on a weekday evening it is highly likely that your tour will be private. I had pleasure of passing a lovely evening in conversation and food. Two special things for someone who often travels on business.
    I highly recommend this tour.

A really fun tour around a different and vibrant part of London. Our guide Raj showed us all the local shops and gave us a bit of history of the area. And then the best part… the food! We tasted a whole range of different Indian cuisine, and also got to visit the kitchens of one of the venues to see how the food was made.

Excellent tour, Raj was great visited lots of different venues, tasting some great food, some of which you wouldn’t think of tasting normally but it was all really good.

So much fun with Seria, walking a new neighborhood and experiencing authentic Indian food. We had a great group and Seria had great energy keeping us eating and moving! We even went to an Indian supermarket! Could I go alone to Brick Street and eat Indian food? Yes, Would I have gone to 5 places to eat? No. This trip is worth it!

I enjoyed a wonderful food tour with Nanthini! My husband wasn’t feeling well, so he stayed behind. As a shy person, I was nervous about spending three hours one-on-one with the tour guide but I should not have been anxious at all! Nanthini was a delight from start to finish and I learned so much from her on this tour! She made me feel so comfortable and welcome. My only regret is that I didn’t get a selfie of Nanthini and me. I really enjoyed our conversations about spices, ingredients, and techniques. She asked about proteins and flavors I enjoyed and worked them into our choices as we toured. In total, we sampled 9+ dishes and toured an Indian market. Nanthini also arranged for a tour through a busy restaurant kitchen – fascinating! I can’t recommend her tour strongly enough!

Amazing South Asian food tour with a great host! So many dishes and big potions! Dishes we’ve never had, great mix of meats and veggie choices! Bengali, Indian and Pakistani flavors, we even made quick stops in a grocery and sweet shop. Our host, Shorif, was so enjoyable, personable and knowledgeable! Would love to go again!

  13. CYNTHIA_D

Excellent food tour – one of the best we have been on. All the Indian food was great and very authentic. Our guide, Shorif, was friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and the area.

Fantastic evening! Excellent Indian food, from starters to desserts. Very knowledgeable guide who was an incredible host.

  15. Jessica_G

A bit pricey but the kitchen tour at the end was the big highlight. Our guide even gave us a quick tutorial on Indian pickles and spices at a local grocery store. Lots of food. You won’t leave hungry. A great tour for people who are new to or want to learn more about Indian food.

  16. Monique_B

This tour was absolutely fantastic! Nanthini, or tour guide was so perfect, enthusiastic about the subject, informative, and a delightful person to be around. The food was amazing. We were beyond stuffed. And, we learned so many interesting facts about Indian food and culture. This has probably been the best food tour I’ve done… and I’ve done a lot. I highly recommend.

  17. Cynthia_R

I loved our guide and her wealth of information. I will be doing a good tour in other cities in the future!

  18. Sandy_P

Our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. And the food was beyond fantastic! We ate in a geographical fashion, which allowed us to learn about Indian food as a whole.

Best food tour we had in London! Lots and lots of food. Super nice and knowledgeable guide Riki.
It was nice to sit down inside; unlike another tour we took where there was no sitting and only outside in the cold.
Just wish it started an hour or two hours earlier

This is a great tour for a culinary introduction to authentic Bengali, Pakistani and Bangladeshi food. Sharif was friendly and knowledgeable host. Perfect “insider” experience of the Indian-style cuisine for which London’s known.
