Certainly the chocolate tasting. I certainly know a lot more as regards to chocolate and the reference to cocoa content. Kathy our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the whole process and made every feel at home .

It was a great experience! I learnt about the farming and sourcing of cacao beans, followed by how chocolate is made from the cacao beans, we then made our own chocolate bar and lastly we tasted chocolate samples from around the world. Erin was our guide and she was full of energy. It was clear she was passionate about chocolate. She helped make the experience all the better. This was a fun way to spend 90 minutes in Edinburgh.
ScottR_H –
My daughter and I had a great time learning about the history of how chocolate was developed over the years. We were able to make out own chocolate candy with toppings. Our guide was so very gracious and wonderful. I would make this a must do when visiting Edinburgh.

I am not that much for eating chocolate but this was great! The different kinds of chocolate were so good and the tour was interesting.
If you get a chance to do this tour, do it! So fun.

Such a fun activity. I’m glad I found this on Viator- it’s tucked in a little corner in Edinburgh and I wouldn’t have found it just walking on my own. Our guide Bianca was the best- funny and kind.

Excellent information regarding chocolate, how the beans are harvested and the process of making chocolate. Also included some interesting tastings! And the best was combining chocolate with all sorts of ingredients to make our own chocolate bar! Not much walking at all too!
Candace_L –
Learning how the chocolate was made was very interesting but also making my own chocolate was super fun.

Bart_D –
It was a great experience and one that I would do again. Loved how they continued to educate us on how chocolate was made throughout the process. Had so very much fun with my family making our own chocolate and then getting to taste chocolates from around the world. Erin was a great guide, had an infectious attitude and was so very helpful.

So with the time and cost. Starting with a dark chocolate “shot” and a couple samples, you learn about the cacao plant and the process of preparing before selling to companies. Then you go in and make your own bar or medallions. Learn more about the making of a chocolate bar. Finish off with a taste testing of so many different varieties of chocolate. Probably around 100 different options. When you leave you are definitely alert and ready to keep moving. Erin was great.
