Anchorage

Anchorage is a vibrant city still with a country feel. It is the largest city in Alaska, and a great place to start your holiday in Alaska. Alaska is a great place to go on a camping holiday, and there are wonderful camp and RV sites. In Anchorage the fine attractions are the Alaska Centre for the Performing Arts, The Alaska Museum of Natural History, the Alaska Native Heritage Centre and the Anchorage Museum of History and Art.

Fishing is a great attraction and when the salmon come in, there is great excitement and the locals get out the rods. There are charters available for fishing tours. Restaurants, offer a wide selection of food, with salmon and crab legs being favourites.

There is a lovely cycle track around the edge of the sea, so have a walk, run or hire a bicycle, and enjoy the lovely views as you breathe in the fresh air.
