Ayers Rock is an Aboriginal sacred site, and is Australia's most famous natural land mark. It is also the world largest monolith, rising 318 meters above the desert floor. Depending on the time of day and the atmospheric conditions, the rock can dramatically change color, anything from blue to red, and colors in-between. Visitors can climb to the top of the monolith, or take a walk around the rock with an aboriginal guide. Due to the heat you should aim to have completed your climb by 9 am and is recommended for those of average or better fitness.
