Broome is a picture postcard come to life. Located at the Southern gateway to the Kimberley, one of the last great-unexplored wilderness areas on earth, Broome is a small town where the bush meets the sea. The town grew out of the discovery of the world's largest pearl shell, attracting hundreds of people like a gold rush. Today Broome has its own curious architecture, a mixture of old mission houses, churches, pearling master huts and more recent housing closely resembling that of a unique style born more then eighty years ago.

You can still buy our world famous pearls, or buy the home made wares at the Kimberley's largest art and craft markets and those who wish to do what Broome is most famous for, soaking up the ambience and experiencing a more relaxed way of life.
