Dubbo
The Zoo is situated on 300 hectares of grass and woodland and is home to over 1000 animals of 100 species from all over the globe. It is home to Australia�s only African Elephant herd and to endangered species such as the Black Rhinoceros and the Greater Bilby. Located just 4 km from the heart of Dubbo City Western Plains Zoo is a premier tourist attraction where the one thousand animals roam free of cages. Moats some dry and some filled with water keep the aminals inclosed and provide a natural theatre of animals in the wild. Siamang apes cheetah are just a couple of the wide species of animals you can enjoy. The zoo has great success in breeding endangered species. Allow an early start 9am to enjoy it all, driving your own car, hiring bikes, an electric car or best of all walking.
Throughout the zoo there are free bbq facilities, play equipment so this is a wonderful family outing. There are alos Zoo Kiosks, if you haven't brought your own. Local tour operators offer a range of guided tours. The zoo is open daily from 9am to 5pm with no admission after 4pm. for a great experience take an early morning walk and enjoy a cooked breakfast.

Visit Jedda Boomerangs for Boyds amusing and entertaining talk on Boomerangs. After a workshop demonstration on making the boomerant, Boyd will then teach you to throw one. The Old Dubbo gaol has interesting and varied displays on themes relating to the history of crime and punishment, law and order. The goal was open from the 1800's to 1966. A new exhibit 'The Gallary of the Condemed" and shows spine chilling stories. Dubbo is right in the centre of New South Wales. This is a warm friendly country town with good food shopping and entertainment.

Forbes: Forbes is situated on the Lachlan River on the Newell Highway in New South Wales approximately 360kms west of Sydney . A town rich in history which is well known for it's beautiful parks and picnic spots. A popular attraction are the tunnels under the Albion Hotel. These tunnels are believed to have been used to transport gold and money to avoide the chance of being robbed by bushrangers such as Ben Hall. The Tourist Information Centre in Forbes is located in the lovely old Forbes railway Station which was build in 1893.
